BANKS
Banks just released a track ahead of her super anticipated 2014 debut. Produced by Shlohmo - so you know its gonna be gold. First up, 'Brain' is all about the melancholy feels and then outta nowhere at 2 mins Banks voice will take over your upper half and you too will become one of those indie kids bobbing for apples in a dark smoky room. And you will love it. Aaaand repeat.

CHANCE
Chance the Rapper, in a secret Chicago college show, pleasured the audience with NEW MUSIC + WITH JEREMIH. If you haven't heard any Jeremih, his collabs with Shlohmo are to die for. Is there nothing our man Chance can't do?!

ANGEL
Angel Haze --> a little bit Azealia / Missy / M.I.A. Last year she leaked her album, hated on her label, bff'd with Iggy and covered Kanye and Beyonce. She's got a lot going on - and I like it.

JVMM
He made the most delightful album three years ago and is FINALLY saying hello to the world again - with flawless falsetto. 'Red Dust' is the first single off James Vincent McMorrow's new album Post Tropical which came out this month. Stoked.

US
This has been a long term favourite of mine. 'Us' already has a super sad video clip but I was stoked to see Movement releasing a live clip in preparation for their April tour. This one is a hit-repeat track no doubt.

KITES
I have been recently enjoying The Kite String Tangle's soundcloud but just found the music video :) There is nothing more I love than flashing colours and baggy jumpers and "Given The Chance" has both! Definitely deserves a real loud headphone listen.

FLOGGNAW
Odd Future put on a the sickest carnival in the middle of LA and over 10k went. Camp Flog Gnaw. Love the obtrusive creativity, shock value, independence and (almost) everything these guys come up with. They made a primary-coloured skatepark and even got Kanye to come.

Sid Pattni's latest work has been a long time coming. But man was it worth the wait! Word is, Pattni has been working on a heck of a lot of collabs and this is the first installment. Yay for Perth producers.

BRTV
Boiler room has become my go to study soundtracks. The W Hotel Times Square set is a killer late-night study choice and Shlohmo is always a favourite. Check out his first DJ Set for BRTV below. Get's real fun at 25:00min.

SURF
Matt Corby has been playing this song for the last 2 years, but has only just recorded it. What The Devil Has Made is apart of 2014 surf documentary 'The Spirit of Aksha'. Super chilled corby magic.

I want L.M.W.L. to be the 2014's YOLO. Love More Worry less takes you to the place where changing the world becomes a viable life goal. So much :) for Bipolar Sunshine.

BOUND2
Charlie Wilson's Bridge in Kanye's Bound2 is amazing. If you haven't been alive for the last couple of months you NEED to watch the music video (and the parody that followed). It is one of my favourite songs on Yeezus, but that is probably due to Charlie's input. Check out his samples below. Hope he makes it into a full length!

BBC
Every New Year, I don't look forward to jjj's 100 but instead BBC Sound is where it's at. Sound of... is a to-watch / 20##-will-be-big-for-these-guys / you-won't-be-disappointed-with-this newbie List. Past years have foretold the greatness of artists like Michael Kiwanuka, Frank Ocean, James Blake, AlunaGeorge, The Drums, Gold Panda and even old 50 Cent and Sean Paul in 2003. This year is no exception. Number one was awarded to Sam Smith, followed by Ella Eyre, Banks, Sampha, Chance the Rapper, Chloe Howl, FKA Twigs, Jungle, Kelela, Luke Sital-Singh, MNEK, Nick Mulvey, Royal Blood and Say Lou Lou.
Here are some of my favourites:

GIT
Gettin' It Together On Broadway has become my most-treasured vinyl. Personally, seeing the two greats performing live together would be the ultimate live musical experience - think Fleet Foxes in the mountains, Justin Vernon in his Canadian log cabin or Jay-Z on the set of Annie. I love Motown Records and everything they were about, especially the 1969 television specials.
JT
I have always been the biggest fan of Justin Timberlake's work and would rate FutureSex/LoveSounds in my list all time favourite albums. However, his return to the music scene in 2013 was just a little bit pathetic. Some great singles for sure! But enough to make two ridiculously long albums? No thanks. This remix of TKO (from The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2) was given to me by a good (the best!) friend. Thankfully, it has restored my hope in the potential of JT sounds. I love a good rap collab. J. Cole [slams Kendrick in the opening verse], A$AP Rocky and Pusha T give a tired Timberland production a new lease of life. More of this please Justin!

I often find myself hungry, not only for what's missing from the fridge but for a new journey to take my ears on. This blog, I hope, will become for me (and you) a travel journal of where my ears have wandered. This Duke Dumont mix is the soundtrack to the going away party. Happy travels!
